Outside of Stand Up Comedy, Houston, Texas is home to a wide variety of Comedy and Creative Organizations:
Station Theater
Voted “Houston’s Best 2011″ by the Houston Press. What originally started off as the Houston branch of Austin’s New Movement Theater. They’ve grown quite nicely since then. They’ve been bringing street cred to improv comedy in Houston for the past year or so. Additionally, they host Student Sundays beginning at 7 p.m. that allows their improv students the opportunity to get up in front of a live audience and hone their skills. The Supernova Armando show that follows is where people are invited to come tell a story while one of the Station Theater troupes improvs around it.

You send us stories, we pick the best ones, and assign them to a rotating crack-squad of expert story readers who show up the night of and wow our socks and/or pants off. It’s on a Tuesday – what else are you going to do? AND…it’s only $5.

- Doomsday Comedy Wrestling:
Like the WWE but intentionally funny. DOOMSDAY Wrestling has been making crowds laugh hysterically since 2003. Crowd interaction (insults and heckling mostly, never anything risky or dangerous) are a very common occurrence. You can expect a mad rush of adrenaline and enough laughs to make your cheeks sore.
