Winner of The 2012 Boston Comedy Festival Paul Oddo is regular in New York’s alternative scene. During his first year doing comedy Paul Oddo tied with Sam Demaris for Funniest Person in 2002’s Houston’s Funniest Person Contest. A coin was tossed and Sam won that year.

Nominated Best Local Comedian by The Houston Press in 2006, Paul Oddo is comedian that even the most jaded local comedians love to hear. Paul took some time off from shows & self promotion to catch up and tell us what he’s been up to.

Aaron Aryanpur: Funniest Comic in Texas 2012

Aaron Aryanpur has opened up for the Axis of Evil Tour. He was also named Maxim Magazine/Bud Light “Real Men of Comedy.” From Dallas, he’s been gracing the comedy stage for over 10 years. Fresh off of winning the Funniest Comic in Texas contest, he gave of some of his time.

First of all, congratulations on winning Funniest Comic in Texas. How does is feel?

It feels pretty good. Really good. A lot of people gave me a lot of support. With that was added pressure. People were saying that they were counting on me. More and more each year I was in this contest.

How many years have you been in this contest?

Since it began. Five years now. It may be easier for me to say this now that I have won, but I don’t like contest at all.

Slade Ham: Truth Be Told

Slade Ham is an established veteran in the comedy scene, with a wrap sheet of achievements. Averaging more than two hundred shows a year, Slade has performed in twenty-two countries across the world on four different continents.

A seasoned headliner at comedy clubs all across the United States, Slade also toured extensively as a feature act for both Ralphie May and Christopher Titus, having the opportunity to open for Titus’s 5th Annual End of the World Tour at the South Beach Comedy Festival for Comedy Central. He has also headlined for XM/Sirius’s two hour long, Best of Texas special in 2006, and all three of his full length albums are played daily on both the Raw Dog and the Blue Collar Comedy stations. He is also a regular on the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom Show, co-host of The Outlaw Dave Show in Houston, and host of the wildly popular bi-weekly Whiskey Brothers Podcast, which boasts more than 25,000 subscribers.
